This week we sat down with CREATIONS from the south San Diego area. The guys were really gracious with their time, and we really loved having them come in. Mike tells us how he first found him self down under, and the genesis of the band. We go through their writing process to see where they draw from, musically and spiritually, for their music. 9-25-2011 Learning To Pretend

Our families have significant opinions about who we should be.  Since our families are led by flawed parents, some of their ideas about our identity are also flawed.  Early on, we learn that Dads often prefer an Esau over a Jacob – simply because he looks like the blessing they were expecting.  As we struggle with that, we eventually learn how to pretend we are Esau.  It’s the only way we know how to get our father’s blessing.  Join Pastor Mike as we continue learning about Jacob from Genesis 25 – 27.

“We’re gonna make our dreams come true!”  Everyone has a dream, and no matter if you know it exactly or not, it controls your life.  Sometimes we find other people are living our dreams.  What happens when they receive all the blessings?  We usually strive to realize our dreams, just like Jacob did, the “hustler” and “striver” who tried to earn God’s blessing and ended up not enjoying it.  Join Pastor Mike for this powerful series we begin this week!

Today’s episode is with some young punk rockers that have been at the christian jchc thing for a while now. The Hoax are good old punk band from the southern california area. we sat around and talked about the scene, punk music (of course). so if your into Officer Negative, Headnoise, The Deal, One-21 and so and so forth then you’ll want to hang out with these guys. this was a little longer than our normal episodes so instead of our normal outro music we put in a THIRD song by the guys, just to make it worth your while.
